Spring ah it’s you! We couldn’t wait for you already – longer and warmer days, blooming trees, spending time outdoors and a new menu at the Old Mill Pierogarnia! As every season, we modify the menu depending on the needs of our guests at that time of year. We have some new proposals for you, which our cooks worked on while we were still in the winter season. We love preparing for the spring/summer season! Being able to use seasonal fruits, a fresh supply of vegetables from local suppliers and being able to host you in the restaurant gardens – this is what we have been waiting for! Check out what you can expect this season at the Old Mill Pierogarnia.
What’s new in the soup category? This season we can serve you lemon borscht – this is white borscht with velvety mashed potatoes with horseradish, fried bacon and herbal oil. Another of our suggestions is a soup of roasted vegetables with carrots, parsley and celery sautéed in clarified butter and fresh dill. For a good start, we also recommend our set of spreads – bean paste, lard with plum and tarragon, pea and bean paste, served with slices of our bread.
Do we have fans of traditional Polish stuffed cabbage here? The Old Mill has introduced a new version of this dish to its menu. The stuffed cabbage rolls are pierogi with minced pork shoulder and stewed white cabbage in an intense tomato sauce. The Zielonogrodzkie pierogi, which feature roasted spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, onions and garlic, will fit perfectly into the springtime mood. How about the combination of buckwheat groats, goat cheese and onions? The unusual combination enclosed in the delicate dough of baked pierogi is hidden in the menu under the name “Żeby kózka…”!
In crispy pierogi there is a new proposal with crunchy roasted almonds, cherries and dessert chocolate this incredible combination can be found under the name of Benedictine pierogi. We have also made some changes to some of the regular offerings. Black pudding pierogi sticky this season will be served with apple mousse to further enhance the flavor of the stuffing. How about pierogi with fish? A remarkable stuffing of cod, bacon and béchamel in black pastry! These pierogi not only make an amazing taste impression, but also a visual one.
In addition to our unique pierogi, novelties have also arrived in other menu items. This season you will be able to enjoy Broccoli Pancakes with creamy broccoli-leek sauce and fresh thyme. Of course, you couldn’t miss the round, fluffy noodles, which are filled with seasonal strawberries, white chocolate and basil. The pierogi are served fried in a smear of butter, sugar and breadcrumbs. Combined with our cous cous sauce, they taste insane!
It’s time for dessert! This season we have for you a cheesecake in a non-obvious edition – cheesecake with lemon glaze. Fluffy cheesecake based on Polish cottage cheese. Served with lemon sauce, whipped cream and grated lemon zest. How about a delicate as a cloud cream mousse with the addition of traditional halva, white chocolate and lime cicatta? Its texture literally melts in the mouth. We didn’t forget about the novelties in the vegan edition. The colorful edition of boiled pierogi in carrot cake is filled with red bell peppers, chickpeas, rice and fresh cilantro. You’ll find this unearthly combination under the name Kolendronki!
We love to experiment with our traditional Polish cuisine. Sometimes, at first glance, our menu suggestions may seem strange and ill-conceived. However, we assure you that each ingredient is properly combined and matched to the whole. If you feel like tasting these more and less traditional pierogi, we invite you to book a table and visit us in Torun, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Poznan, Bydgoszcz, Lodz or Kalisz. We are waiting for you with our legendary pierogi!
