Little Pierogi Eater Zone

A fairy tale from the Valley of Happy Pierogi

Somewhere far away from the ordinary world,

Under a spider’s thread, woven over many years,

Beyond a silvery river and a huge mountain,

Lies a land called Pieroginia.

The brave Pierogi people live there,

Young and old have colorful adventures,

Delicious smells waft from the area,

Everyone marvels at the beautiful valley!

Several friends live here in small huts,

This friendly group meets every day.

They joke cheerfully, sometimes party,

And above all, they cook wonderfully!

Their days are filled with numerous games,

There are countless ideas for pranks.

There is no room for boredom, regret, or anger,

Smiles are always on their kind faces!

‘Piecuszek’ occupies the cottage under the oak tree,

He has a beautiful figure because he exercises and trains.

He can prepare meat specialties,

He also knows how to bake cakes, although it is no small feat.

Right next to ‘Piecuszek’ lives ‘Leniuszek’,

This sweet fellow doesn’t like to exert himself.

There’s always time for a nap,

For reading poetry, catching butterflies…

Placuch’s house stands among the flowers in the meadow,

He likes to sing and listen to music.

He loves sweets with poppy seeds,

And he’s usually at odds with a healthy diet!

Mr. Kopytek lives under a dark forest,

This forest hides many secrets…

One day, a fly flew in from there,

An intrusive, malicious, unpleasant monster…

The kind that bites, do you know such a fly, children?

It bites painfully and quickly flies away…

Mr. Kopytek had an unpleasant encounter!

The fly spotted him in the morning!

He was sitting by the wide-open window,

Eating breakfast and arranging his cards.

But what is this?

He applied a cold compress, Kopytek,

He blew and blew—the pain quickly disappeared.

But something funny happened…

And there were many gloomy thoughts in his head…

Meanwhile, Leniuszek knocks on the door,

Looking for Kopytko’s company…

His friend opens the door with a grim expression,

His voice screeching as if he were an old hag…

“What do you want again, you intrusive lazybones?

Don’t bang on my door! I’m busy today!”

Leniucho jumped back as if burned,

And his tummy hurt from worry.

As he returned home so sad,

He wiped his tears away secretly.

This is how his friends see him…

Leniucho tells them what happened.

Everyone is amazed—because it’s a strange thing,

The Pierogi family wonders…

But suddenly, Kopytek rushes into the house,

Crying emotionally, and says to them:

“I really don’t know what happened to me!

A fly bit me, it hurt a lot!

I was trapped in some kind of shell,

Forgive me, Leniusz, for my foolish words!”

“I was sorry, my dear friend,

But the Pierogi are known for this,

That they are warm-hearted and love each other

And live in harmony and are doing great!”

Leniuszek replied happily,

And the world became good and kind again.

And the reconciled Happy Pierogi,

Fell back into their blissful mood!

And out of this joy, they threw a banquet,

And invited guests!

From far and near, and from our country,

We were there then, it was in May!

Ah, how fondly we remember it!

And we have something for you to commemorate it!

We make dumplings, delicious ones!

Please try them! They are delicious!
