About our restaurant

What connects Toruń and pierogi. History! Because city of Copernicus is full of gothic legends, and in our Pierogarnia every dish is yet another story. The story we invite you to tell with your loved ones.

A tale hidden within our place is absolutely unique - was built on the site of two gothic, patrician tenement houses, the remains of which, today, are its side walls and paintings from the end of the 14th century. This original detail greets us from the threshold, in the high hallway, in which an arched recess has been preserved, decorated with two scenes: depicting St. George slaying the dragon, and the adoration of the Magi.

So we meet in the very heart of medieval Toruń, where you will feel a magical atmosphere and you will discover the legendary taste of pierogi - traditional, fresh and, simply, delicious.

About our tenement house

The tenement house at 10 Rynek Nowomiejski impresses not only with its beauty, but also with the diversity of its history. It was built in 1820 on the site of two patrician tenement houses that had been demolished earlier, with two original walls and gothic paintings on them. They depict scenes of St. George killing the dragon and the adoration of the Magi, and in the high hall of the building you can admire them to this day. But that's not all: in the 1820s, the building housed the seat of the commander of the Prussian military garrison of the Toruń Fortress (Festung Thorn), one of the largest fortification systems in contemporary Poland.
